Climbing Instructor
Position Objective
Bloc10 Bouldering Climbing Instructors are responsible for ensuring that all patrons have an exceptional climbing experience.

Reporting To: Centre Manager, Bloc10 Bouldering
Salary: Negotiable hourly rate
Hours: Full or Part-time
Location: Bloc10 Bouldering, Aberdeen

Responsibilities and Duties:
​
Responsibility 1: Customer Care at Bloc10 Bouldering
​Performance Standard: Instructors are to ensure all visitors receive comprehensive briefings on bouldering safety rules and requirements. Regular floor patrols must be conducted to enforce safety compliance.
​
Responsibility 2: Conduct instructor-led coaching sessions and manage children's NICAS and Wild Climbers groups.
Performance Standard: Instructors must demonstrate proficiency in teaching individual and group climbing techniques. They must maintain control of large groups by ensuring engagement and focus.

Responsibility 3: Maintain building cleanliness and tidiness.
Performance Standard: Staff must sign and complete cleaning rotas at the end of each shift. Cleaning must be done regularly to a high standard. Cleaning includes toilets, gym equipment, coffee machines, service desks, and vacuuming.

Responsibility 4: Conduct floor patrols.
Performance Standard: Instructors must greet customers upon arrival and provide guidance on climbing techniques during patrols, engage in courteous conversation, and enforce gym rules.
​
Responsibility 5: Administer First Aid and adhere to Health and Safety Accident Procedures.
Performance Standard: Instructors will receive first aid training and must be competent in its administration. They are required to follow accident procedures meticulously, including documenting incidents in the accident book and preserving CCTV evidence.

Academic and Trade Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
No essential qualifications are required; training will be provided to the selected candidate following a trial period.
Desirable Qualifications
CWI, Fundas Levels 1, 2, and 3, and First Aid at Work certifications are desirable.

Performance Review Period: An initial 3-month trial period will be granted, followed by a 6-month review period.
